fall over/つまずいて転ぶ
I read "E.T." today.
There was a strange sentence in this book.
It was "Elliot shouted---and fell over". This sentence appeared in the scene that Elliot met E.T. for the first time.
I refered to my dictionary and I could understand that "shouted" means "大声で叫んだ".
But I couldn't understand "fell over" becouse there wasn't it in my dictionary. So I guessed the meaning at the context. I thought he was very surprised and he must faint away. So I thought "fell over" means "気絶する". But he said to E.T. "Don't go!" in the next scene. I felt strange...
I refered to my dictionary again. Then I noticed my misunderstanding!
I misunderstood "fell" is the past of "fill". But in fact "fell" is "fall"...So I couldn't find a meaning in my dictionary. "fell over" means "つまずいて転んだ".
Now I learned new word today.

I read "SINDBAD"today.
A term of return is near at hand...
perhaps/ひょっとしたら come out/現れる angry wind/強風…??
An expression "angry wind" came out in my reading today.
Is it a figurative expression peculiar to English?
I was able to understand a rough image. I think "angry wind" is a very strong wind.
But I felt this word today...

Hi♪ I read "SINDBAD(PENGUIN READERS LEVEL2)"today. I couldn't concentrate on my reading. So I couldn't read much today.
An island appear in the story. But this island is not ordinary island. It was not an island. It was a big fish and it dragged into the sea many sailors.
When I read this scene I remembered "Dr.SLUMP".Do you know "Dr.SLUMP"? This is a Japanese cartoon. A big fish like an island appeared in it too. But it was a big alligator in the story...
As I have said, the famous story in the world like "SINDBAD" looks like Japanese cartoon. I felt very fun.

勝手にシンドバット。
I borrowed a book from the library today.
The title of the book is " THE VOYAGES OF SHINDBAD SAILOR".
There are two reasons to choose this book. For one thing I think it is easy to read for me,and for another I like an adventure!
By the way, should I have choosen formal book more?

Hello...
I read "How to learn English"to the end. I regreted today. Because I couldn't remember new words. For example, I couldn't understand a word "context". So I refered to a dictionary. But I forgot when I saw it the next time. I think that I read it very careless. I was going to memorize.
I think I should guess at the meaning of the word from the context. But, it is difficult for me.
